Lets face it, spring break 2011 is just around the corner and with that will come news of one, or maybe even two, of your students getting arrested down there in Panama City, Florida for doing something totally foolish.

And they're off! More than 4,000 students just completed week one of the ten-week spring 2011 Stock Market Game. Students have ten weeks (well, nine weeks now) to invest a hypothetical $100,000 in the market. The team or individual that turns their $$ into the largest amount will be crowned state champion in April. Best of luck to all participants. Check back for weekly updates....

The 2011 Georgia Economics Challenge will be held on Monday, March 28th at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Teachers interested in bringing a team of four students to compete should contact Mike Raymer at mraymer@gsu.edu.
During the competition teams answer question on micro, macro and international economics. The top two teams then move on to a quiz-bowl round that determines the champion. Winning team members, and their coach, each receive a $100 US Savings Bond and a chance to compete at the regional level.
