The Multiplier

The New York Times is currently running a very interesting series about iPhone production. Where are the phones made? Why are they made where they are made? How does all of this impact the US economy?

Also included in the series is a nifty video. I would bet the ranch (if I actually owned one) that your students will find this very interesting.

When I Grow Up....

....I don't want to be unemployed. So maybe I should go into education or the health field? According to this wonderful Washington Post story that is right on the money. 

Many of you are teaching seniors right? Many of those seniors will be off to college in a matter of months right? Right. Why not share this with them so they can compare the unemployment rates of various areas of study at good old State U.

Maybe also a good time to discuss the difference in unemployment rates between recent college grads and those with advanced degrees in the exact same fields.
